How long have you owned a KDS monitor?

I am interested in the KDS for it's trinitron picture. I have read post's from some people having problem's with them. I would be more interested in the Samsung's but i believe they have shadow mask screen's and i am more interested in apeture grill. I like the picture of apeture grill for graphic's in gaming.

I have had my KDS for about a year now it is a VS-195e and they have replaced it one time. KDS definatly has some quality control issues. When my monitor is working it is fine and I have no complaints. Their warrenty service is excelent. Lucky for me they have a location less than 10 miles from where I live. When the monitor died I called them got an RMA# and drove down there gave them my old monitor and got a new one. It was very simple and hassle free. Their quality is not the best but they do have a 3 year warrenty that they honor with no hassles.

Well let's say i buy it at staples. If i do have a problem couldn't I just return it to Staples within the 3 year's of warranty to eliminate shipping charges on RMA?

I have three KDS AV-7T 17" Trinitron monitors and one KDS VS-9E which is a shadow mask monitor. All four are almost three years old. I haven't had any problems at all with the three AV-7Ts but the VS-9E had to be RMA'd when it was eleven months old. The RMA was painless, though. The replacement arrived in two days.

About 2 months on my VS-195, so far it works well enought for the price i paid for it. (about 200)

Every once and a while it seems to go out of focus(happened about 3 times), but just a simple turn off and turn on fixes the problem. It isn't bad enought to try RMAing yet.

Overall, i'm satisfied.

I've got the KDS AV-7T and I've had it for about 2 years now. No problems over here.

AV-195TF - In use for 9 months now ... and rocking better than ever.

At times, I find myself looking at $1,000 17.4" flat panel monitors and think about how nice they would be. Then, I go home to my AV-195TF and realize that I'm quite content with this monitor.

I have had a AV7T for about 2 years and a AV7-TF for about a year. Both have worked great and are well worth what I paid for them. It is starting to look like I will never get the opportunity to try out their vaunted KARES program for RMA's.

although I never could get all the balance of pin control, corner pin, trapazoid, etc. quite right, but oh well....
