I have known Anandtech since Fall of 1998 and I was referred here from some other BBS that couldn't answer my questions but a person there knew who to ask here. I needed to flash my BIOS on my Abit BH6 since I had Rev 1.0 and needed to get 2 256MB modules into my computer. There was a guy (Oliver Wu maybe??) who worked for Abit in the Motherboards section everyday posting new beta BIOS's. Eventaully one o them worked because although the one that officially supported 256MB modules came out, it did not provide a stable solution for my registered ECC RAM. I had one account back then and a little over a year ago I decided to change my name here to my Starcraft Broodwars character for some reason.

On a side note, I think I take the cake for being one of the longest members here with the least posts (about 0.81 per day hehehe). I say this cause I think this is an Off Topic Post and in the Off Topic Posts I saw that topic posted lastnight but as I usually do, I did not reply. I just like reading many of the posts here and providing help for those who I can by answering specific questions, as well as posting for help on my own and other people's behalf.

When the UBB version of the forums wasn't stressed...

When the prospect of 3000 members was a big deal...

Before Russ got cynical...

I was upgrading from my P166MMX to ABit BP6 in Dec '99 and one of my "advisors" told me in e-mail to check out AnandTech.

And here I am today. This is what I mostly do when I get home.

xyyz, I've done a search on LAtimes site but couldn't find anything. If I ever find myself in a library I'll look over there.

There is very little I remember, but I think it was either in the section where they used to have the comics(now life?) or business section. Bottom of the front page towards the right? I don't know...

Maybe if you ask Anand he'll remember. I know they guy went inside the house and saw where Anand tested his mobos. I'm sure there weren't that many people that made their way into the house.

The site was mentioned in a magazine over a year ago related to overclocking. It wasn't till 6 months ago when I got curious about computer stuff that I decided to visit.
