How long have you had your mattress?

That's not MLP by the way, but hell yeah I ordered one. I actually need it.

Since you guys always insist on "PICS" and I just happen to have that option right now. Anyway, that brown one was maybe a dollar or two at goodwill and the knitted one was a gift from somebody (I use it as padding)...quick and easy to pick up and move. I've taken other photos in that location without the bedding.

I guess if that's how you want to live 1/3rd of your life then more power to you...

Whats the advantage to a giant heavy expensive lump of metal springs and crap? I've tried them a few times...you sink in all kinds of weird ass places and get all twisted and knotted up. I prefer to keep a straight healthy spine and good circulation to all my limbs.

We have a cheap spring mattress that is now about 8 yrs old. However I don't need anything fancy just to sleep and have sex on. I've done both on far less comfortable things before and been fine.

Hey do you guys see that thing in the upper left corner? That's an old USB to IDE external CD drive. Upgraded it to DVD at one point and now I use it for all my OS installs etc. It's pretty kick ass lol.

maximum comfort

even my dogs love memory foam.

Since somebody quoted it, I'm gonna delete the pic from my post.
Then I'm gonna make a sammich from green and brown stuff and eat it.

You're doing it wrong.

Had it so long that if I removed the bedspread and sheets from it to where it was just the bare mattress and struck it with the palm of my hand or with a pillow or with a stick or something like that, the amount of dust that would rise from it would fill the entire bedroom and suffocate any one in the room. That's how much dust and dirt has settled into it from me sleeping and sitting on it over the decades. The dust/dirt works its way slowly through sheets and covers for years and finds it way into the mattress. That's the way I think it works.

Edit - Btw I adjust wood boards and 2x4s or 2x6s under the mattress so my back doesn't hurt from sleeping on it.

You know, I hate researching mattresses. Shortly after we bought our last mattress set (12-13 years ago) we learned that the same manufacturer sells the same exact product under a host of different names so that the retailers can always offer the 'low price guarantee' marketing BS.

Now I go to Sterns and Foster website in attempt to email them asking 'what is the comparable replacement for our Sherrington Limited mattress and they don't do email. So, before calling them I see if they, like everyone else, continues with this 'shell game' and sure enough they do.

So, not only do I not know how to consider a comparable replacement to what I already have, but I have no idea how to shop price between the f-ing retailers for the same mattress made.

Maybe I build a concrete bed and deal with it.

We got a new king size when we moved into our house a year ago and it's already sunk on both of our sides. Complete BS since neither one of us are even close to overweight, I have a Sealy posture premier twin mattress I have had since I was 19 I keep in the mancave for nights one of us is sick or I'm in the doghouse, that thing is still FLAWLESS over 20 years later.

I'm guessing the springs in this thing are made in China or some sh!t.

You could always get a Japanese futon and sleep on the floor. 😉

I have a Simmons Beautyrest that I've had a couple years. On the soft side. I like being cozy and luxurious.

We got a deal on a 10 pack with a 15 year warranty. They usually get soft spots after about a year so the dealer swaps us new ones. They'll probably not let us make that deal again, heh.

This guy will email you back with the names.

I know some people that call their beds "road beds" meaning they picked the mattress up from the road - either because it flew off a car as it was traveling down the highway from being purchased or getting moved, or they were road dumping a bed they no longer wanted.

Whatever helps you sleep at night - hur hur.
