Have you considered getting one of those "sticker" style face-plates LL sells? I see them all the time at CompUSA.

My black SPCR P180 I've had for about 1.5 years now. Probably the best I've owned. I got in on the P150 deal at Outpost for $60 after rebate for my backup computer. Not bad. Best thing was I got freen ground shipping, and despite living in North Carolina, I ordered it Sunday (when they couldn't ship anything anyway) and got it about noon today :D

I've had most of my Antecs for about 3 years now, although I did recently upgrade my main PC's Sonata to a TX1050B so I could fit my Thermaltake Bigwater 745 water cooling kit to my A64...it was a bit too big for my little sonata.

Antec Aria about 3 years now. Bought the free after rebate Ultra case from outpost to move to. The Aria's PSU is beginning to go I think. I love the Aria, but it gets hot inside.

do you have a link? I haven't really looked at anything in awhile, at one point I was planning to spray paint them a metallic silver to blend in, but I ultimately decided it was too much work and I'm lazy.

Last time I saw the stickers you had to order for your specific CD/DVD drive, and I couldn't find any for mine. Do you mean they have like a generic one that fits all now?

It's had lots of mobos thru it.

I think that my Add. 7896 listed in my post is the OEM for that Supermicro.

You are correct, it's the OEM for the Supermicro. As old as my case is, and as well as it still serves it's purpose, I could not see being without it, as long as the the components continue to fit. :)

4 years but I just retired it for a marginal upgrade to a Shuttle sff PC I've had laying around for over a year now but just got around to getting a processor and some RAM for it.

Now my Shuttle is acting as my Media Center and gaming rig and I have my laptop for neffing and documents so my full size "main" computer is not much use to me anymore.

2 years or so, I have some POS Aspire Navigator. All the plastic is falling apart, the rest of it is actually a really great case.

A friend of mind built a case in metal shop a few years back and is still using it. The thing weighs so much and still has 2.4ghz P4 spray painted on the outside.

I think so. I can't find it on CompUSAs site, strangely enough, and can't find it anywhere on Google, but I've seen one that claims to be useable on all drives. There a bunch of different sticker locations you can punch out for the right location. When you have a minutre, just call or run by your local CompUSA. They should be in the miscellaneous crap section next to the cases, where they have heatsinks, cables, etc.

Shadowknight, I think These are what he means for the drive covers. They'll fit any CD drive as long as your case has the screw holes for then, which it should.

Anyway, I've had my blue Chieftec for about a year and a half now, and it's still a great case, but next time I upgrade it I'm getting a Lian Li to replace it.

Thanks for the info, next time I'm near CompUSA I will definitely check it out.

About 4 years. It's a cheap POS $35 case, but it's functional and holds 8 3.5" drives which is exactly what I needed.

This thread got me to thinking about a replacement for my old beloved tower on wheels and I found this at Newegg.

Anybody else have one of these or seen it in person?

I don't know about that particular case but you really can't go wrong with a Lian Li - I will never buy anything else now.

I have a Compuase 6919 which is very similar to the Antec 1040s of old but without the door. I bought it when I graduated high school in 2002.

I've had a large server tower case since ~98, so almost 9 years. Reminds me to update the led display on the front, it's still set to when I had the Barton 2500+ in the case.

I can't figure out how that works?

So does everyone that buys a silver case have to get those? Or so some mfgs offer silver drive faceplates for their optical drives?

1st computer was a 386 back in 1992. Big old AT case.

kept upgrading that case till ATX standard came into play. Last used in 2002 and had a Pentium Pro 225mhz in it with 128 megs. Runs Windows98 fine!

i still have it somewhere.
