Got Bellsouth DSL November of 98.

Had it and Loved the hell out of it. Just moved into an Alltel-Monopoloy LPC and tehy're the only DSL boat in town. Before we moved we pre-qualified. But that went out the door after we moved in and were told it would 8 - 10 months before the outdated switch outside the neighborhood was updated & we could get DSL.

On Dial-up and my life sucks.

I've been on a cable modem since December of 1997. There's absolutely no way I can do without it now.

Started with Flashcom DSL about a year and a half ago, and when they went under I was switched over to Speakeasy. Static IP, no PPPoE bullsh*t, and excellent uptime.

April 2k1. Signed up the first week it was available in my area. As long as it's here I will NEVER go back to dialup. It's a whole hell of a lot more convienent and faster.

Since 11/01. Access has now become a prerequsite for any house I buy from now on. Even if I can get a castle for $1000 or the schools have a 1/1 teacher/student ratio for my children......................the lack of broadband is a deal breaker. ;)
