How long have you gone without a checkup/visit to a doctor

My boss came out today and complained about how he can't see because he is both far and near sighted. My coworker told him to go to the optometrist but he refused saying it's only old age. I would assume you would need a new prescription etc. He then sees me dropping in dry eye relief drops and said he is okay because he never had to do that when he was young. I work in a DUSTY environment, stare at a computer all day, and had to wear contacts today because I forgot my glasses at my gf's. I don't see the relevence at all since he prob didn't have computers or a job like this at my age. He then says that he has never had to go to the doctors in over 30 years. He was recently having neck pains in which he found out he had a pinched nerve. He is overweight (big belly, flabby), obviously doesn't work out at all, smells (previous thread), and just looks grungy. I would say his chances of being healthy, very very slim (if not zero).

That being said, discuss how long you have gone without going to the doctors.

I'm 25 years old. I went for a checkup about 3 years ago (it was my first time in about 5 years). The doctor told me my health was fine, and that I didn't need regular checkups until at least age 30 assuming I stayed well.

Checkups and visits are two different things.

My insurance (if you can believe it), will not cover a full checkup, so the doctor has to do a half-assed one and skip some of the tests. I

go in for a visit if I'm dying from allergies, have the flu or something.

It has been over 15 years since I have been to the doctor. I don't go for minor things and I am healthy so why waste money? No one needs a doctor for a splinter or the majority of things that can be taken care of by oneself.

i went to get 11 stitches but i can't remember the last time I was at a doctor for something else. 8-10 years? I could probably use a thourough examination. at least my head anyway

I'm 28 and it's been over 5 years since I've been to a doctor for anything except an eye exam. I did get my flu and tetanus shots last year but that was just at the local health unit. I do need to go to the dentist soon though because I know I have cavities.

This thread might use a poll...

My answer, it's been too long. Usually try to hit the dentist every year, but doctor has been several years and I'm sure I have the symptoms to back it up too. Overweight, high cholestoral, stress, anxiety, etc. Not quite sure why I don't go, just don't.

Dentist has been a year. Doctor... several. I do regular testicular exams on myself, however.

A few weeks ago to schedule another visit to have a couple moles removed. I have to go to another doctor on Monday to have them cut off though.
