My comps only get turned off when the power goes out. I am to poor at the moment for a UPS. I am going on 129 days on this machine.

Yay, 14 hours, 48 minutes since that critical update! ;)

I also took the opportunity to bump my overclock from 850 to 876 MHz. So far, so SETI. :D

I turn my computer off at night because it 'hums' too loudly. So...it hasn't been on all that long today. :)

I play around with mine WAY too much, so I don't get huge uptime figures. The longest would have to be a month or so for one box that I setup, then pulled the monitor, keyboard and mouse and stuck in the corner (UD boxen! :D)

12 days since last reboot...besides occasional reboots and shut downs for cleanings, it's been running 24/7 since I built it...

I seem to need to reboot my computer every couple of days or so because it runs out of "resources" despite the fact I have 383 MB of Ram installed on my Pentium IV. What am I doing wrong? Do the memory sticks need to be installed in matching pairs? Or do I run more memory hogging programs? (just some basic photo editing programs or Kazaa...)??

C:\>systeminfo
'systeminfo' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

also.. how much power does a computer take compared to a TV, like what was meantioned above.. any one have a chart?

hrm, obviously not many unix users here. ;)

Guess the longest uptime on a machine of "mine" is at a remote customer install, acting as a simple NAT box. Been up since the day I put it in, and no, I don't provide the people services any more. ;)

2.1 Years.

(or 768 days)

My NT Server box is at 14 months and going strong.
The linux router is at 18 months.
My personal pc is probably only a week. Had storms around here lately, and I don't have an ups on my pc to filter the power.

I forgot how to see the Uptime, but by hitting ctrl-alt-del you can see when the last time you logged in was.

I last logged in 2/10/2002 @ 10:58:58PM. So it's been about 6 days since I've rebooted. Definately not a record. ;) I usually end up rebooting every week or 2 for some reason or another. But as far as my computer, it hasn't been off for more than a few minutes probably since I moved, about 4 months ago. Before that, it was never off. Besides the few minutes it takes to swap nics, etc.. my computer has basically been on 24/7 for the last couple of years.
