I have one of those kill-a-watts.
My computer uses 140watts while it's idle's/surfing web.
I have an OC'ed Athlon64 with 2GB of ram, a GeForce 6800, and 3 hard drives, all with a Dell 2001FP.

Computers don't use too much power while idle. It's not surprising since all chips are just on off switches. They don't use much power while the switches are off.

Precisely. Hopefully the use of these devices (mine draws 120W on startup, while all three disks are spinning up), will negate the need for "OMG you need teh 850W uber-PSU!!!" posts.

It's off right now. I posted this with a prefetching device that stored the information on a flying cache cow on the moon and it's just hitting the forums right now.
