I dont know if the past builds are good predictors on future release length, but my guess is about 2 years now???

If so Then I dont know what all the fuss is about GFX being "above DX9 spec", in that in 2 years the card will be scraping along anyways... beyond spec and all.

;) Precisely. DX8 has been around for about 2 years, since the the introduction if the original GF3 and it toook more than 12 months for anything significant to begin using it. I'd say we're probably at least 9 months away from any DX9 games and as you rightly say, by then a Rad9500PRO will be mcuh like the Rad8500 / GF3TI are now. DX9 has a lot of benefits but all we're truly getting at the mo is blazing speed and the ability to run with AA and AF both maxed out!

Halo for the PC is being rewritten to take advantage of DX9. That should be an interesting one to see.
