How long has Chris Cornell been the lead of Rage Against The Machine

I just found out about 30 seconds ago.

It will be extremely interesting to see how he works out.

I have always loved Soundgarden and Rage Against The Macine

Can't wait to hear some new stuff.

Oh and if this is a repost I really don't care.
This is brand new news to me and I am sure there are people out there who didn't already know this (and some who did).

Less than year because Zack just left them not too long ago. I'm sure someone can give a better idea as to the exact dat though.

🙂

It isn't going to be the same Rage at all. The music will be different. RATM as we know it died when Zach(arrogant fvck) left the band. I liked both bands very much 🙁
I hope they prove me wrong and produce something fantastic

Chris was announced sometime last summer. the CD they were supposed to be working on was finished and set to be released but they trashed it and are starting over. that was the last i heard about a month ago.

<< I thought they were gonna change the name of the band when the new frontman came onboard. >>

Yes, this seems to be correct. They aren't calling themselves Rage Against the Machine, at least not yet.

zach left when "the decision making system broke down" I just want to know how a group named rage against the MACHINE could break up over too little controll.......

Same reason a band called Rage Against the MACHINE could be employed by Sony.

btw as someone alluded to Cornell is not in RATM, he's just starting a new band with the remaining members of RATM.

They actually have a name; heard it on the radio but it's been forgotten 😱
So don't go looking for any new RATM albums 😉

You know, I just kinda shake my head when these bands - who make millions of dollars - come out and say they are anarchists, Satanists, necrophiliacs, whatever.

I saw an interview with Rob Zombie once. He was asked if he worshipped Satan. His response? "I'll do anything if it will sell a record."

It's music. You're not making a political statement by the band you choose to listen to.

So that's what Cornell's been up to -- I've been waiting for a follow-up to Euphoria Morning, which I liked even more than Superunknown (though I'm in the minority on this I guess).

<< i could never embrace RATM's politics. i just want good music, i don't need stinking political message jammed down my throat. >>

I feel the same way mostly. But I have respect for Rage for beling political and putting their views out there. Too many people are too afriad speak their mind, so it's nice to see a band (especially such a successful band) say, "like or not, here is what we believe."

system of a down don't jam it down your throat quite as much though. it's more subtle. (although the music isn't)

I just hope Cornell is doing the songwriting. Tom Morrello's songwriting skills were exhasted half way through the first RATM album. Every. Single. Song. Is. In. F#. Minor. Pentatonic. The guy only knows one riff, he just changes it slightly from song to song. And people hail him as a guitar god.

Well...Chris Cornell won't be touring with RATM in Ozfest but Epic will still put out their CD

Heard this over on KROQ

Da rock a de Eighties in pa-sah-de-nah (at least it was back in '85, man I'm old 🙂 ) That's good news, I'd hate missing the chance to hear what they did together. Which reminds me, I need to order Temple of the Dog to complete my Cornell collection.

I'm just happy they are changing their name... because I hate Chris Cornell, and loved the old RATM. I think Zack left for a good reason, those pansies he was with wanted to start writing non-political songs, and love ones to boot!!!
