How long doesa refi take?

I am past thinking about it, so I was wondering, how long does it take to do a refinancing? If it matters, I want to get some cash back at the same time.

What I mean is that if I do the paper work on Feb 1, when will the refinancing be complete and when will I get the extra cash?


Is it fastest to go through my current lender?

My bank (credit union actually) is almost 3 months delayed in application to closing times. But it's a small regional credit union.
 
3 weeks to 45 days, depending on how fast you get them the needed conditions, and if any hiccups come up.
 
ours took longer than expected because the appraisers have had their hands full recently with all of the refi's...it took about 3.5 weeks from when we locked until we closed.
 
did my refi few days before Xmas, closed the loan on Jan 12th. If wasn't for the 2 holidays in between, probably would have closed a few days sooner.
