Yeah, that sounds right. The average 400-500MB TV episode can be extracted in 15-20 seconds.

How big was the file / How big was the file you ended up with?

That seems quick, since the normal size for a scene release of an hour long episode is about 355 meg.

And to those not familiar with the scene, everything is originally in rars.

If you get it unrarred, then you are much lower on the chain ;)

Man, i'm unpacking 24 episode 22 right now... and it's taken almost 2 mins... i'm doing it in the same directory (so same drive).

You must be proud to get your rar'ed files. You'll go far I'm sure, having access to illegal copies of pornography and software you don't know how to use. I know you'll end up liing in a mansion someday.

depends on the quality of the compression. if you do Normal, it takes longer than Store. check winrar -- there are other options, but those are the ones that are most widely used.

Single episode (400mb) - 10secs
DVD5 - 2-3 mins
DVD9 - Go get a drink, it'll take awhile.

I think my drive is fragmented all to h3ll because they sometimes take more than a minute.
