It depends on how you filed them. (Telefile, online, or mailed them in.) If you filed them online it should be 10 - 16 days. I'm not sure with the rest. Telefile is prolly somewhere around 21 days and I really don't know how long when you mail them in.

By mail - probably 4-6 weeks.

Hey - it's quicker than most rebates :D

If you bought a tax program, you can e-file for a little more than $10. Some other ways of e-filing is to do your taxes online at places like quicken.com.

4-6 weeks sounds about right. Federal seems rather quick, usually about 3-4 weeks for me. State seems to drag their ass up here though (MN).

<< how do u efile? and does it cost extra thatn a 1040ez which i am doing >>

If you qualify--meaning you don't make a lot of money--you can file your taxes for free online. So you can file them, send them, have your taxed back in 10 - 16 days and it's free for qualifying people. :D

If you have a phone line in your name, then you should have gotten a Telefile form in the mail. All you do is call the 800 number, and less than 10 min you are done. They mail it to you (About 3 weeks) or direct deposit (Usually about 10-14 days) Sending a 1040EZ gets you a return in about 4 weeks.

I e-filed fed return early in Feb, got the money direct deposited in less than three weeks. The state took a paper return and that one took four weeks. If you file early, you get the money back quicker I think..

6-to-8 weeks, if you file by mail and wait for the check to arrive in the mail. 6 weeks in January, 8 weeks after that.

3-to-4 weeks if you electronically file and wait for the check in the mail. 3 in January, 4 after that.

2-to-3 weeks if you file electronically and direct the IRS to electronically transfer your refund into your checking or savings account. The refund is issued 2 Fridays after you file, your bank takes several days to actually credit your account.

If you file through a tax prep service that offers refund anticipation loans, for a fee you can get your refund (a bank loan on your refund that will pay off the loan in two Fridays) in 48 hours or less.
