How long does it take for USPS to deliver a package in the same town?

As title:

I was expecting a package yesterday (Saturday), since USPS tracking showed it's out for delivery at 8:08AM in the morning. But I have yet to receive it.

The USPS service has become worse and worse everyday. Last month they lost my package. Last week they delivered a certified mail without signature to my house that's supposed to be for my neighbor across the street.

I'm really afraid that USPS will lost my package again!
 
Used to be next day but with the closures of so many places pretty much everything USPS is a minimum of two days.
 
the package has left the office sorting facility.

Trucks can /have deliver up to 8PM for myself.
 
I drop off my Netflix discs on a Tuesday, Netflix has it on Wednesday, I have new discs by Thursday. Only Sundays mess up that kind of turnaround.
 
Finally got the package.

I really wonder whether USPS carriers drive their delivery truck back home when they get off the work on Saturday if they could not deliver all the mails & packages.
 
2-3 days in my experience

1 to pick up
1 to sort it (this could be done the day it was pickedup)
1 to drop it off
 
I've sent packages Priority Mail by noon and had them delivered coast-to-coast by 5pm 2 days later.

Oddly, sometimes it takes the same 2 1/4 days to go less than 100 miles.

Ditto. Drop off Priority package Saturday in New Hampshire, the person receives the package in CA on Monday.
