SUMo is sort of "community aware" and will recognize that a new software update is available, just as soon as someone else who is also using SUMo has discovered a new installed version. However, this can often result in mis-identification of "beta" software as being "non-beta" software, unless or until some end-user goes to the trouble of notifying the SUMo software author of the error.
