Yeah, as the resident doctor mentioned try to get cream and pill. you can get cream over the counter, but I believe the pill is prescription.

I think the pill was called Lamisil...

*groan* Ringworm is a fungus, not an actual worm. Got it last time I went to visit the in-laws farm. Put Lamasil on it for a few weeks and it went away. It does take a looooong time though.

Its just a stubborn fungus (same family as athlete's foot and jock itch) and yes it is contagious. I had ringworm on my hands once, probably contracted it from the rats I used to feed my python. It was very persistent, took about four weeks of diligent prescription strength antifungal cream use (two-three times per day).

I used OTC cream for about a week the first time because it appeared to be completely gone. It was lurking under the skin waiting to come back. The second time I used it for two weeks and it came back again! So I went to the doctor and got some stronger medication.

UPDATE:

I stopped by her work to see her today, she's doing fine, just a little embarrassed. She showed me the mark on the neck, it honestly doesn't look too bad to me. She unfortunately has also been feeling a bit queasy the past few days, hopefully lots of rest and relaxation will take care of that. I just kept telling her that all that matter is how she feels, not if she has some marks on her throat. I honestly feel that way, too, I just want to go and have a good time. Good lord, she's so beautiful, it's gonna take a lot more than a little ringworm fungus to turn me off. ;)

What a great outlook. Just be sure to wash your hands before touching any other part of your body.

If i understand things correctly, now that she's been on the meds for a few days she's no longer contagious.

That would make sense, she has a few rats as pets.
