How long does it take for credit to be refunded to a debit card?

I returned a video capture device to Best Buy this past Tuesday and as of Thursday I still have'nt had my account credited. So I was just wondering how long does it normally take for credit to be restored to a bank account/debit card?

Is it something that depends on the bank or the store?

Most merchants have up to 45days to process a credit back to a credit card.

Most reputable and established businesses take 3-5 business days but I've seen it take as long as 60 days 🙁

Word of advice, in the future only use a credit card (not a debit/check card) for online purchases. If you don't have a cc then save up $500 and open a secured cc.
