depends on the type...

games like Deus Ex are replayable with different outcomes... some games you beat once and thats it.

UT - Years
Regular games keep me interested until I beat them, (few weeks usually)

Quake II - 2 years and counting

But for offline games I usually stop playing them after I've beat it.

In the first 300 days (7,200 hours), I put in over 2,400 hours (100 days)then stopped cold turkey and sold my character on Ebay.

I am interested in it until I have beaten the game, usually. Sometimes games always stay interesting, but there are not many of those

Depends on the type of game. Most single player games only keep me interested for a week, unless they're exceptionally good. Multiplayer games like Starcraft usually keep me involved for about a year. MMORPGs keep me interested a lot longer, 3 1/2 years with Ultima Online, aside from a 1 1/2 month break.

Console games have a much shorter lifespan in my home. Usually only a couple days, unless they have spectacular multiplayer and I actually find people to play with.

I used to play StarCraft 24/7 two summers ago, still play it quite often now. Half-Life: Team Fortress Classic and Counter-Strike have now taken up StarCraft's online time. And soon, when I get my new videocard, I'll be playing Tribes 2 and Unreal Tournament on a 1024 x 800 display resolution :)

If its a good game, I usually will play it until I clear it. Sports games, I just play until I go numb. :)

Usually a couple of weeks, then I get bored. There are exceptions though.

NHL 2001 - 9mos and still going
UT - Every once in awhile
Diablo II - Put it down after about 4 mos, ready to pick up the xpac

Depends on the game, somtimes just a few minutes, few hours, few days, few weeks, few months.
Very few go on more than a few days.

Depends on the game! I still play Tetris :) I'll stop gaming for months, & then 1 day I'll just play all my old/new games all over again ;-)
