The g.f. gave that B.S. thing last night about just not feeling like it. That her sex drive is down...from a guys perspective, there is no such thing. But thats what she said. How long is this acceptable for? One night? One Week? One month?

From a gf? Not long.

Depends on the circumstances, of course. If you're going to define a point of no return, that'd probably be between three weeks to a month.

I feel that the "no sex" thing is sooo wrong to put upon a spouse/s/o.
I would never do that ever. Don't put up with it.

If you absolutely must have sex whenever you want it, find someone else. She is under no obligation to jump your bone whenever you get horny.

Sometimes there are chemical imbalances which can cause this. If it's prolonged, it may be an effect of medication that she is taking (such as birth control).

Personally though I would say a week tops. :D Anything beyond that and she's either preparing for a split or has a chemical imbalance, or is just old.

It's usually a sign that things are about to end. If this lasts long it means she is no longer attracted to you physically.

For a girlfriend, I don't think it's wrong. Your partner can always move on if you both can't find some middle ground or are just sexually incompatible. Now for a spouse I do agree that it's just plain wrong to withhold sex.

For the OP, I'd personally put up with it for a month barring extenuating circumstances. Of course, my girlfriend (now wife) back during my Freshman year of college gave up sex for lent and we're still together. If sex is the only thing keeping a relationship going, then you're probably destined to separate at some point anyway.

I don't understand how it's not acceptable if she just doesn't feel like it.

Do you go with her to every crappy chick-flick movie she wants to see? No, because you don't feel like it.

The door swings both ways.

Why are you asking us? Its a personal decision. I know a married friend of mine who says his wife not give it up for 6 months. Does it bother him? It did in the past... But only because he'd go in the shower to relieve himself and she'd get pissed at him for doing that! He's just like WTF...

Yet other people might say every other day is not enough... My last GF wanted it 2 times per day (if not more), if I didn't give it to her, she got all pissy with me... And threaten to go elsewhere looking for action. She did eventually look elsewhere, which is why she is an ex... I personally could not do it that much as it got boring, and not to mention, messy, and then she'd get pissy at me for wanting to shower after because then I'd shower too much. Again, wtf...

Normally I'd say a week is a good pace... Sometimes more, sometimes less, depending on the conditions.

If your gf feels that way I've experience that issue before someone I was seeing was on the pill and it affected them badly. 2 months on it then she stopped after that she was fine.

To be fair I've been on Roaccutane and had the same problem a one month dose really messed with my sex drive while I was on it, after that I was back to normal.

This isn't a "not tonight, I have a headache" thing, it's an extended-period "no sex for you until you buy me A/take me to B/I stop being a C" thing :p
