How long do you keep your reciepts for?

I was just cleaning up my desk and I found like over a hundred old reciepts some from 3 years ago. How long do you keep your reciepts for?

Unless it's for a large purchase, or for some purchase with a payback (patronage refund, etc), I throw them away after I've balanced my checkbook.

Agreed, if it doesn't deal w/ an extended warranty, once it clears my account, hello paper shredder

i hold onto big purchase receipts cuz if they are needed for warranty purposes and whenever I charge something, I hold onto the receipt until I get my credit card bill for the month
