Hockey is a great game to watch... Plan on 2.5 Hours minimum....Attempt to enjoy it, It could be worse, it could be Basketball!

Oh no you di-int :Q

That's sacrilege here in NC 🙂 College Basketball kicks Hockey ass around here -- which reminds me, why the fuck do we even have a NHL hockey team? It just doesn't compute.

Because people in your area like hockey? Just a guess.

I love hockey. 🙂

OK, end of the first period here. I just don't get it. I don't get the strategy involved -- it just seems so random. Eh, at least the tickets were free and there's free wifi

The puck goes into the other team's net. 😉

Well duh, the offense/defense structure just seems to have no rhyme or reason

Hockey player's can't stop or turn on a dime like in football or basketball due to ice 😉.
speak for yourself.

KT

Yeah, we left during the second intermission -- by that point, the score was 0-5, the whole crowd was booing the Hurricanes, and people were already leaving. My fiance was bored out of her skull and I just wasn't getting into it.

I don't understand how you can be a fan of other sports and not understand hockey. It's very similar rule-wise to soccer and lacrosse, but more intense.

Soccer is another one that I just won't watch. However, I love basketball, football, baseball, golf, track and field, swimming.

Hockey just isn't an traditional American-esque sport IMHO

the strategy for hockey sometimes mimics basketball...

There is a lot of cycle passing to attempt to get open shooting lanes.
Or
sit back and play defense and odd man rush back to score when there is a turnover.

I've never cared for basketball in my life. Not even now, when I'm a student at Ohio State, do I even care to follow our basketball team. Basketball is a sport I couldn't care less about, unless of course it was played with human heads instead of basketballs, but we're civilized these days, and heads don't bounce... or do they?

But yeah, basketball is torture for me. I don't follow sports in general usually, but I'll enjoy watching most live.
Hockey is awesome live.

there's your answer.
