You probably don't have very high framerate requirements.

I know that is the weakest part, I am sure I'll pick up a new one this year. However I have to say BF3 looked and ran pretty well. I have no idea what the frame rate was but overall it was pretty enjoyable. The maps did load a bit slow but not unbearably slow.
I also have to admit I wanted to check out the Star Citizen Hanger Module but was unable to because it doesn't support DX10 (or maybe DX11).

Yep, the GTX 260 is a DX10 card whereas Star Citizen only officially supports DX11, though it can be hacked to run on DX10 cards.

Performance is still improving quite a bit. The difference is that single threaded performance has stalled. In 5 to 10 years computers will be 4 to 8 times more powerful overall. Single threaded performance will probably only be twice as fast. However, I suspect CPUs will be 8 cores and will have integrated graphics that match today's higher end GPUs. The more interesting stuff is happening in the mobile space. Cell phone will be as powerful as today's desktops, maybe even more.
