If you really need to get them before you leave I would suggest that you keep them in a cold location and in a little water. They should be fine then.

btw.....that is really sweet of you to get her flowers. It is nice to know that someone cares and is thoughtful.

My bf gets me flowers at Publix and I'm happy just to be getting flowers! He doesn't need to spend $30-40 on a dozen :p

The flower shop should give you an additive that you can put in the water vase.

Sprite will also work just as well.

Roses usually keep my wife happy for 3-4 days after I get them.

You can keep them cool (ice chest) while traveling.

Then snip off the ends afterwards on arrival with a knife or sissor.

Choose a set that are not fully opened. This will give at least 1-2 more days of beauty.

Of course not, but we're both poor college students :)

Btw, I know that alstromeria would last a while...they may not be roses, but they're beautiful as well.

i have gone into 7-11 and my gf stayed in my car. I bought a single rose in there, and suprised her with it. I can tell you that the thought is what counts, not the money. ;)

I spent $75 buying roses for my wife for our anniversary. They were delivered to her office where she left them for a day. Yesterday, she brought them home where they were decimated by Hurricane Kitty. So the answer is 24 hours. :)
