How long did it take to transfer your cell # from AT&T Wireless?

Just trying to figure out how long to expect for this to go through....they said up to 7 days.......

They just said in the newest consumer reports that it should take more that 2.5 hours? And that when you switch, don't cancel your current carrier yet because your new carrier is supposed to take care of that along with the number switch.

It should take NO more than 2.5hrs according to consumer reports.

ATT was taking a while, not sure how it is now. My gf ported from Cigular to Sprint. Took 5 days I think.

My friend switched a number from Cingular to T-Mobile and it took three whole weeks. THREE WEEKS! Something makes me thing these companies are dragging their feet on this to discourage people from switching...
