How long did it take for you to adjust to contacts?

Just got contacts after previously trying twice a few years ago with no success. They feel pretty good but I'm wondering how long did it take for you to get adjusted to the contacts to the point that they were comfortable and you forgot about them.

Also searched online for refills but wanted to see where you folks go for refills.

I have the Baushch & Lomb SoftLense 66 Toric and so far (2 day) I'm happy :)

took me probably 6-8 months. it always felt like i was getting crosseyed, or that one eye would move and the other wouldn't. this is if i'm staring at a stationary object. it's really probably just the lense itself shifting slightly on my eyeball. my precription also changed by 1/4 after about 6 months, even though it hadn't changed for a couple years up to that point while wearing glasses.

A LONG time. First time to get them on took me a few hours cos I just couldn't get it.

Now I can put it in about 10 seconds each eye, or the first try.

had problems at first cause the prescription was different from my glasses so my eyes were like "AHHH". Though most of the time now I dont bother thinking about them. Pretty comfy until I start to get tired and then they start to cloud and want to come out :(

5 seconds. I use disposable Acuvue contacts. I forget I have them on most of the time. Very comfy.

I also have astigmatism and I would love to find a cheap source of toric lenses so I can ditch my glasses. If you have any sources, please post them :)

My secret to cheap contacts is to never replace them. Flame on about how they are my eyes, blah blah blah. I have the Toric ones and they are supposed to be for either a week or a month, I probably had this pair for over a year. I clean them as you should clean them, and no issues. When I pop in a new pair I notice no difference.

As for getting used to them, I'm not sure I ever feel that they aren't in my eyes, but after a week I no longer had the urge to rip them out like a huge piece of sawdust. I would never wear the things if the ocean didn't eat my glasses. I like them now just because I can wear sunglasses, but the things usually never go in on a weekend.

i adjusted pretty damn well/quick to contacts.

i highly suggest getting this newer rinse though called bausch and laumb w/moisturizer (sp) instead of like bausch and laumb no-rub

it makes contacts feel sooo good.
