I'm just curious. What do you consider the difference between savings and investments?

With the six months of unemployment supplementing my savings I could probably go for six months. Then I would clear out my DVD collection on the FS/T forum and two of my three computers. After that money is gone I would have to think about tapping my 401k and maybe even my wife's Rollover IRA or using some of the large credit limits I have on my credit cards. Of course I could make my wife get out there and find a job. ;) Things would definitely change.

I would say savings is short-term easy access accounts (savings account, short term CD's) and investments as stocks, bonds, etc. Long-term holdings.

I've got no paycheck since February but could go till the end of the year, AT Hot Deals not withstanding of course. Longer if I decide to sell my junkie car for a few hundreds bucks plus saving from insurance and gas.

couple years...cause GF is working hahahahha.... <---She can pay for me. else I'll have to jump into our CDs and IRA's. I should be ok for at least 8 months to a year.
