Assuming you could get all the supplements you need, you could live off empty calories for many, many years.

You need both micronutrients and macronutrients in order to survive.

Macronutrients are Carbs, Fats, and Proteins.

Micronutrients are the vitamins you get from either pills or food.

Then lastly you obviously need water. A donut would give you lots of carbs, fats, but very little protein. I'm not sure how long you would be able to survive on this kind of diet though.

Tons of carbs and fats, not much proteins... however, peanuts have a good amount of protein.... so, assuming you eat only peanut coated donuts, you may last for decades....

It sucks, we have "hamster food" and "dog food" and so on, which can be fed to these animals every day of their lives, and they seem to do pretty well. So where's our "human food" or Bachelor Chow?

Wouldn't it suck even more eating the same crap every day?
Also, we have Bachelor Chow, it's called Pizza.

The other night I caught a pair of episodes of the TLC show "Freaky Eaters." One was about a woman who ate nothing but french fries for seven years. Her young daughter had the same "condition" and this lady was convinced it was due to a genetic disorder.

Second episode was about some 22 year old dude that ate pizza literally 3 meals a day for 2 full years. He had severe health issues, daily migraines, morning nausea, etc, but didn't think his diet and his problems were related.

Anyway, it seems like it would be possible to live on the donut diet for quite some time, though I dunno what kind of health you could maintain.

Most of the other weird things like pizza and chips probably have fair amounts of protein in them, even some types of rice have protein. doughnuts however do not, unless they are maybe whole grain or covered in some type of other food. As for the diet of the average American, we eat TONS of meat and lots of awesome awesome deadly awesome red meat. No protein and you will quickly begin to look like a holocaust victim.

You could survive for a long time. Not with fantastic health or anything, but it's doable. Especially if you limit the intake of donuts.

For how many years, I don't know. Probably a couple of decades.

Pretty much this.

What type of donuts? I imagine you could create a 'donut' that packs the right nutrients to complement your multivitamins.

the only type of donut worthy of human consumption is that made my Krispy Kreme.

everyone knows this.

You know ... I have gone MONTHS without eating a single Donut. I have cut back on cookies, and I've reduced my food intake. I haven't touched pop in weeks either. (or "soda" as some people may call it, note: those people are wrong)

Because of this forum, I am now craving a box of donuts and some mountain dew and doctor pepper "throw back" .... this will not go well!
