"This is the second one we've seen in this hospital where the person was injured by the nail gun and didn't actually realize the nail had been imbedded in their skull," neurosurgeon Sean Markey told KUSA-TV in Denver. "But it's a pretty rare injury."

A psychology course I took a year ago had a story about a construction worker who had a pole jammed through his brain - into the area under his ear and out the top of his head... and the guy lived.
It was an interesting study because of how the damage to his brain affected his behavior later on - for one thing, the guy became a real asshole.
a four-inch nail the construction worker had unknowingly embedded in his skull six days earlier.

You don't need something jammed into your brain to become an asshole. It comes free when you age.

That guy is a staple textbook example in EVERY psychology textbook out there. Seriously, he's had at least a page written about him in every psych book I've ever picked up.
Is that the story of Phineas Gage?Originally posted by: mobobuff
