How long can Celeron D last at 80 celcius?

I have the antec shoe box case with no air flow and my Celeron D 352 3.2ghz is running at 80c when loaded. I run this computer for bit torrent and Folding so its running 24/7 at 100%. I replaced the stock cooler with zalman 7000 and did see about 5c drop, but due to no air flow I'm stuck at this temperature. Its been about 2 weeks since I built this and had no issue as far as smelling anything burning, but curious if this cpu/mb will last much longer if I keep running as is. Temperature reading seems pretty accurate since the heatsink is pretty damn hot to touch when the bios is indicating it to be at ~80c.

There is a good chance it could run for quite a long time.

The netburst based chips could run very hot and still be reliable.

However running a chip day in day out at these temps will shorten its life quite a bit. How much is impossible to say though.

I run Seti@home 24/7/365/????? but care about temps pretty much. You should do the same.

Man your CPU runs hot. I have a Celeron D 325, which is 2.53GHz, and is non-overclocked. I used to run at 80C, but I knew that was too high. Now it doesn't go over 65C at load.

As long as you have a little cash-flow, get some air flow. Problem solved.

Take the side of the case off - cheap and simple, if temporary, solution!

Wow, that's terrible. Do something about your airflow, seriously. Do you have a PCI slot? If so, there are PCI slot fans you can put in there, with fans you can aim internally. They are designed primarily to cool adjacent video cards, but you can aim it towards the cpu area in your tiny case. Good luck! If your mobo will run it, and you can swing the $, get a C2D 6300, will be a crapload faster and cooler.
