How long before you would go insane?

Say you woke up one morning and discovered you were the only one left in the world. Everything is left as it is but just no people. You go out and do all the things you ever wanted to do without consequences but how long would it take before boredness, depression, and insanity overcomes you?

I think 2 or 3 months top and I'll go insane.

Never, I would relish in the experience. Spend a while finding a good place to live, and making fortifications to protect yourself against the wilderness. Spend a while longer collecting as much non perishable food and water supplies to last you for years, at least long enough for you to get a good crop of grown food going.

After that, find a generator, a fuel tanker, knock over a few Best Buys and Circuit Cities for the best in home theatre equipment and gaming hardware. I would be happy until the day I died!

It weird but I've actually thought about this several times in my life.

While its true I am generally anti-social and spend many hours sitting in my apartment, I would still want other people around. Even if we only interact once a week its still kind of neccesary.

So my pool money is on the 3rd week. After that I'm going crazy, and probably not coming back.

Not to mention a raid on the liquor stores and a pharmacy or two.

I would last a while but would probably do something stupid. Doing said stupid acts would lead to probably pain and injury. After realizing that I contracted some horrible disease from not tending to the wound properly, I would just off my self. I would do it in an awesome way though...probably involving nuclear weapons, many of them.

Even if I got to pick 4-5 friends to that could stay alive I wouldn't last that long. Sure there are some fun things we could do, but PEOPLE are what make life interesting (and not four friends I already know).
