How long before right wing blame Obama for Secret Service scandal?

I'm confused. Was the point of this thread to attempt to incite people to blame Obama since no one, at this point, had done so on this forum?

Has there been any elected Republicans that have blamed Obama? Seems to me more like someone is building a straw man just to piss and moan.

Meh, leaders always get the final blame for those who work for the leader, no matter how far down the chain the workers are. It is just the way it is.

What is more telling is how the leader responds to the problem. So far, Obama has said the right words. Time will tell if the correct actions are taken.

If you're going to claim credit for SEAL Team Six it's only fair you take 'credit' for your own personal security guards.

I think the Director should go, or at least be investigated. Too many lackadaisical-type screw ups. He was appointed by Bush, I don't see why Obama defends him.

I see what you mean and I agree to a point, but part of me still has trouble equating the static defense role of the SS (under control of the Director) with Obama making OBLs death a specific goal and ultimately making the decisions that led to that success.

If Team Six had instead found someone else other than OBL, or had met with far more resistance leading to failure of the mission, I would agree completely Obama should get the blame as the operation was his baby, and he's the one who said Go. As far as I know, there was no conversation between anyone in the SS and Obama to the tune of "Yo Big O, we're gonna hit up the Pley Ground down in 'Ho-lumbia' next week! We're bookin it now, shits gonna be epic, you in?"

The SS Director needs to be sacked, plain and simple. This behavior constitutes a grave security risk. That soiree was preplanned, not some spontaneous visit that got out of hand. I understand that we all have needs, but that is no excuse for professionals to shirk their responsibilities, particularly when "in the field." While I don't begrudge those guys for wanting to party, I'm kinda livid over the notion of a security detail bragging about their charge to anyone, let alone complete strangers who sell themselves for money. The chances for a security compromise are huge, someone needs to be made an example of. We really need to get message across that this country will not tolerate it's protectors endangering themselves and the rest of us just to show off to pussy. I'm still trying to forget about the SEAL that put one in his own gourd while showing off to a girl he picked up at a bar.

The leader of a group always takes the blame for the actions of the group. That is just the way they things work - and SHOULD work. It IS Obama's fault this happened, the buck stops at the top.

The real issue is how he dealt with it, and from what I have seen he has done the right and proper thing. So no problem at all.

So yes, when there is a culture in a group which allows bad actions as proper, it is the fault of the leader of that group - which is Obama in this case. The leader then needs to fix it, which he apparently is doing.
 
This entire SS thing just smacks of royal stupidity. These guys don't seem to realize/or take seriously enough the position they are in.

In addition to cleaning house rules need to be cleaned up as to duties SS should not perform. This isn't the first time they've done things that should be out of bounds (picking up Bush twins drunk boyfriends, bringing in JFKs mistresses)

You mean, if you take credit for a mission you either ordered or approved of, you are nort allowed to take credit unless you also take the blame for 10 guys on a security patrol, 4-5 levels beneath you, get hookers at a hotel and did not tell you?

I mean, even "You Betcha" Hooah woman did not know her SS men were eyeing her up......

It should be investigated, just like any other jobs. the guys that did it were bad, but the one that did it, did not PAY, and caused a commotion was worse. Their commander should have had better control and been, at the very least, reprimanded/penalized, and anyone up the line that knew but did nothing should also have their motives questioned.

But this is not a direct issue. The president did not command, or allow them to do this. Blaming him for an individuals actions would be like blaming him for that soldier that went psycho in Afghanistan.
 
Generally speaking those pundits who are laying blame on the President are big R Republicans hell bent on attacking anything they can. Much like the Ann Romney fiasco, which I honest to god believe she was paid to say with the amount of coverage Fox is laying down on it. Most everyone else doesn't care.
