I'm wondering. I remember back in 1997 when I downloaded my first MP3, it was Men In Black from Will Smith. And it took ages on my 28'800 dial-up connection :) I was in a Telnet-Chat when somebody told me about MP3s and ever since, I started to collect MP3s :) I remember using L3Enc and stuff, ah, the good ol' times (for me that is).

The first mp3 i ever downloaded what whitetown - your woman

EDIT: 1997, aol mp3 chat room lol. I remember punting off the guides in AOL, them coming back on and killing my fake acount, and then i'd just log on with another. I discovered the warez rooms one day when my friend came over and the fake account maker, haha

I first recorded wavs into my pc to listen from. It was about 48mb for each song or bigger. Not too sure. My friend told me about mp3 and the wonders of it and I was calling him a big liar for it. :D

DA BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMB. I loved that CD. Especially the Intro :)

There's a threat in the world today.
A threat to our way of living, a threat to our society,
and maybe even a threat to our very exitence.
And what is this threat? The WESTSIDE CONNECTION.
An organization made up of highly motivated,
extremely agressive gangstas turned businessmen with one single objective,
world domination, or in their words "Creating a world wide Westside".
Vowing to make every man woman and child bow down
to the "W", a hand sign used by their members to show affiliation.
We have confirmed reports that "W"'s have been appearing on the various
monuments and historical landmarks throughout the world. There are also talks
of Mount Rushmore being renamed Mount Westmore, with America's forefathers
being replaced by the WESTSIDE CONNECTION forefathers, Ice Cube, WC, and
Mack 10
a.k.a. The Gangsta, The Killa, and The Dope Dealer.
When confronted with these allegations they released a statement saying...
quote... "B!tch, you know the side, world motherfscking wide."....... unquote

97-98. Sadly, I could only listen to them at school because there were no mp3 players for my 25Mhz Mac LCIII.

I got my first mp3 in spring of 2001, IIRC. And it was 'Stronger' by Britney Spears.

I don't quite remember, it was way back in the AOL Warez chat room days. I was in like 7th grade I think, so, 1995-96.

Eh just checked, there isn't an option for 1995? mp3's have only been out since 1996?

Aww man, first in 99. I had no idea what an mp3 was. Pretty much quit altogether about a year ago after hearing what wma did to a song. Yuck, switched back to CD, then I found ATRAC......

1996. I was very "active" on the net, as I sat on a T1 all day for the ISP I worked for.

I remember ripping the deftones "adrenaline" record on my P133 and posting an IRC bot while at work.
