1 tell sis run
2 if sis does not comply, return to 1

in all seriousness, if the guy has connections (and he will) he can make very miserable for your sister. he ran her report already which an indication that he will do what it takes to fuck her over and get the son to dump her. she's better cutting her losses and saying sayonara

I don't understand why people create unnecessary drama for themselves.
The family is full of douches.

Just move on. Simple as that.

By elevating the situation, you are only creating more problems for yourself.

Agree here. What exactly is the plan? Threaten to turn in the former cop if he doesn't leave your sister alone? That's extortion, and is your own crime to deal with. I just don't see any positives here.

How is that extortion? The only way I could see you using it in that manner is if you really twist the idea of "personal gain" to include getting the boyfriend's father off his sister's back.

I don't see how this is harmful to say... "Listen, we know you either personally ran or had someone else run a credit check on so-and-so without a just reason. We're willing to put this gross abuse of authority behind us, if you back off." It's simply stating outright that we caught you (you may even want to have hard evidence before you make the statement), but we're willing to take the high road if you will too.
