How large does my room have to be to fit a regulation pool table?

i'd say at least 15 x 15 if you want to have room for people to walk around and not bang into walls or eachother and stuff while taking shots.

Is it a snooker table or are you talking about a teeny 8x4 8-ball table?

Let's see

A pool table is 4x8
A cue is about 5 ft long

Add in another foot or two for breathing room

I'd say at least 17x13

good... because a snooker table is 12x6 :) and I usually end up embarrasing myself trying to play on one. I think the minimum clearance you want from the edge of the table is 3-4 feet...
