What's wrong with Wildwood? I've never been to Seaside Heights, it can't be too bad for Wildwood to be worse. I think Wildwood's pretty nice.

Yeah, the beach was a little messed up. But I didn't find it any more crowded than OC Maryland, or dirty...I don't know what "schmaltzy" means...

Schmaltzy is cheesy, glitzy. All those arcades and crappy souvenir shops, wheel games, the freakin' TRAMCAR....and OC Maryland is also entirely too crowded.
Cape May is pretty good - clean, nice scenery. It's still way too crowded.

There are some really nice, clean, quiet beaches in NJ, but I dare not mention them before a cast of 100000 people 🙂

Well, there really weren't any clubs or bars to speak of (I found a few) in Wildwood, and that's one of the reasons I like Ocean City. The fact that it's by the beach is secondary to the fact that it's a place people come to party. I guess I can see where you're coming from with Wildwood, but it was still a nice place to go, with the Boardwalk and all...the Tramcar "Watch the Tramcar, please" does get a little annoying, though...
