So, then this forum isn't my real life personality? Next you will be telling me Facebook and Twitter isn't my real life personality, too...

I feel like I'm pretty easy going and mellow around here, so much in fact, that in my entire 7 year tenure here, no one really knows much about me.

Not much is different IRL. I'm quite social, though.

Pretty much the same. I may be a little more argumentative online, but that's what online's for; honest discussion, without the trivial social filters you require in meat space.

Trivial?

Personally I think it would be better if everyone acted more like their real life selves. The "internet tough guy" persona everyone adopts is tiresome and leads to much more assholic behavior.

This makes the assumption that somehow a person's internet life is any less real than his life outside of forums.

There's a huge gap between frank discussion, and Ethug. Frank discussion in meat space can be difficult because you sometimes need things from other people. Whether it's cooperation at work, or some arms to help move something. Filters are required to ensure continuing cooperation.

I don't require anything from people here. If I piss someone off, they'll forget about it soon enough, unless they have mental issues. Topics can be discussed online without repercussion, and it allows a broader range of ideas, discussed in greater depth.

I agree. And please sign me up to your Manly Outdoorsman's Newsletter about being a Hobo and cooking with wooden cookware and stone tools please.

My g/f confirms I am the same in real life.

Some idiot started honking at me while I was pulling into Publix yesterday when I had to stop due to another idiot driving down the wrong lane of traffic. Once he corrected himself I continued on.

Dumbass behind still honked their horn and then had the nerve to give me a stare and go chicken neck as they passed. I pulled in where they were and verbally accosted them. They told me to grow up, I told them they should have thought about that prior to honking at me like a maniac.

They said "They didn't want to get hit" I was like no shit.

They were talking to security when I was done shopping asking for an escort to their car I think.

I have such a strange personality in real life that my boss told me he feels uncomfortable when I'm around and he makes more mistakes in my presence despite me having nothing to do anything about it.

All of you guessed it, my personality in real life is quite suffocating.
