How is your attendance history in the workplace?

Personally I have never been late to any job....ever.

I have called off several times over the years....but always for a very valid reason.

Once I did leave work early (and permanently) after I got into a dispute with a worthless manager. Heh, I gave them what amounted to a 5-minute notice...lol.

been late 2 times in the last 4 years ( i had to wake up at 3:15 am to be at work by 4 woke up at 3:45 made it to work at 4:05)

never have called in

work salary, so really i'm never late. other jobs, i've been late a couple times, but called in sick maybe 2-3 times in 8 years of working.

I'm late quite often, actually. However, as a salaried employee, I don't work to the clock. There are many days where I'm in early or stay late for meetings. Not to mention the work I put in from home. How do other salaried employees feel about this?

Personally I can't stand being late and I'm salaried. I usually try to get in around 8:30 every day. The rest of my salaried coworkers usually show up around 9 or 9:30. We all leave at the same time, usually aruond 5:30. My boss comes in at 9:00 too.
I'm hoping it makes a good impression on him that I'm here before anyone else and I stay after everyone else leaves. Of course I do my fair share of surfing the net and whatnot, so it all balances out. If I need to go before 5:30, I just leave and no one says anything or cares. Hell, some people in my office who have been here for 5+ years don't work but 3 days out of the week anyways. If someone has a problem with me leaving 30 minutes early, they better look at those other people first!

i have missed 2 days in two years and been late two dates in two years. The late part was because of accidents on the freeway, which is the price i pay for living 25 miles from work.

also on salary, so I'm never late per se. I never take sick days either thanks to my superhuman immune system. 😛 I do take 'personal days' occasionally in addition to my vacation time. 😉

i don't get personal days (which is a joke) so i consider the days i call in sick, and i'm not sick, to be my personal days. 😀

'Nother salaried "never late" person here. As long as my hours total up to whatever they need or more for the pay period (80, 88, 96) it doesn't matter how I do them, within reason of course).

For those of you who will ask, I have to report my hours because I am a gov't contractor and my company needs to know how much to bill.

i dont have a set time to go into work so i guess im never later either.

fyi: i took a nap at work 2 weeks ago cause i was tired and my head hurt.

Called how: once a year average. Mostly my sick leave goes to dentist and doctor's appointments.

Late: depends upon the traffic usually. I try to get to work 10 minutes early but sometimes that 40 mile drive takes longer than usual. The couple odd times I was late of my own accord, I just stayed later to finish up my work.

I have not called in sick to work in over 2 years.

On the other hand, I am late 85-90% of the time ( by 5-15 minutes ) I like my sleep.

Job#1 (I have two jobs) is salaried for me, and like Rob9874, I also come in early and stay late when necessary. I have to be in by 0730. I usually get in b/t 0700-0710.

However, due to Job#2 getting me to bed at 0130 🙁 I sometimes oversleep...I hit the snooze bar too many times and it shuts itself off. My boss will call me and say "um, are you coming in?" This happens maybe once per month. This is not good and I get reamed for it.

Do the positives equal the negatives? I don't know...it's up to the boss. Some feel that it does, some feel that it doesn't. Personally, I feel that it does, as I am in 20-30 minutes early, 99% of the time.

As far as calling in sick goes, I have been out sick maybe 5 days in the past two years.

Ditto.
