How is Woot.com doing...financially, growth wise?

NFS4

No Lifer
I managed to sneak in and get three bags of crap tonight before it sold out in under 2 minutes. This marks Woot's 2-year anniversary.

I haven't seen them in the news recently, so does anyone know how the company is actually doing?

Forgive a noob question, but are these generally worth the $8 cost?

BOC = $6 ($1+$5 s/h)

Answer imo is yes...given the chance of getting a random overstock of some higher ticket item, as well as the chance of just getting something useful or fun for cheap, its definitely worth it. 🙂

Their June woot-off generated almost $1 million in revenues and sold over 19k items.

That's one helluva distribution center for a website that only sells one item at a time.

But that's just multiplying the sale price x number sold. What was their ACTUAL net profit? I guess we'll never know...

Ok, thanks. I read through the description, and they said repeatedly to add a quantity of 3 to the bag. I assumed they'd charge $1 for each 'crap', making the 'bag' $3.

Well damn, any site that can legitimately sell bags of crap, and sell out that fast seems to be somewhat succesful to me. Let us know what you got 😀

Last time I got a back of crap (which was last year some time), I got 4 priority pucks, a set of Dell 5650 5.1 speakers and some random item that I can't recall.

The 5650 speakers were well worth the $8 I spent.

Ever since someone got a 60" hdtv (or something of the sort) in a BOC purchase, they get sold out as fast as their servers can handle them. (Altho to be fair they always sold out quick.)

That's a big BOC to fit a TV

Woot member dschonew receives Infocus DLP 61" tv with 11/04/05 BOC purchase.

(3rd post down)

Well. I was correct. This is not a joke. Today I received the Infocus 61" DLP TV delivered by Linkex Inc. Initially there was a note in my package that said "3RD PIECE OF CRAP UNABLE TO FIT IN THIS BOX SORRY."

In the box was the pleather bag, the universal remote, 2 DVDRW, 1 DVDR, and the note.

I watched the forums hourly looking to see if anyone else had received the note, and I never saw anything.

Hmm, my last (and only) bag of crap was a small stuffed animal, only the receiver of a microsoft wireless mouse, and 2 kensington pucks....
