there's better cards, but it all depends on how much you want to spend :).

if i was in the pricerange, i'd go with a 9600 pro for around $110-120

If you can grab a Radeon 9600, as suggested in this thread already, I'd go for that instead. You'll be able to play games much better than the FX5200 and it's barely much more.

Enjoy.

you dont need a high end card, but what are you planning to use it for.. be a tad more specific, i think it would be worth it to atleast get 9600 PRO, XT or TD

Used cards is an option, I think you should explore, depending on where you are I live near Hamilton Ontario, and their are some great places around here, you can get 9700 for 100$ used, if you haggle a good bit.

whoa whoa whoa a 5200 for 79 bucks... that's a rip off man. For 40 bucks you can get a 5200 or for around 70 you can get a decent 9600SE. Look around for better deals. 79... bah, hey maybe try looking around for the 5200 ULTRA as that is a better choice in the 5200 line.

Vibe:
fx 5500 $102 CDN

NCIX:
Abit Radeon 9550 - $89 - link
Sapphire Radeon 9600 - $129 link

The 9600 is about 30% faster than the 9550, worth paying if you want to see better visuals in Half-Life 2 or Doom3 (and Doom3 engine) games.

Canadian bud. And 9600SE is far from decent.

My best advice is to ebay "But It Now" for your cards.

Just do a few searches. Any of those cards will suit you fine and for a nice price.
