How is this possible?

I am on a sad 56k connection on a WinXP box. I was d/ling some music so I set it up and went and watched one of the games on. When I came back I had a Windows messaging box open with some porn ad. How is this possible? I alwasy thought you needed to know the name of the computer you were sending a message to?

not true... where i work, a bunch of computers got the exact same thing, and it *was* a windows messaging box. it wasn't porn though, it was a love poem

Yes but the majority are little boxes disguised to look like windows. I believe now they are using something that looks like a "Tip of the Day" but after I get it, it gets added to my blocked list.
