Yeah, same.. I don't see how that could be allowed.

But I'd guess that it is completely legal.. You knew about it when you took the job, and you're free to quit at any time.

Shens! You are their slave!!

Obviously, franchising chains like TB have their own franchising restrictions and obligations, but I'd imagine most independently owned franchises have control over some pricing.

Shens on the salary deductions/withholding.

Totally shens.

Shenigans.

oh - and to your OP. Totally legal. Your imaginary friend is mucking up and is getting his pay docked for doing so. Totally legal.

It's a franchise. It's not Taco Bell's policy. It's the owner. Sounds like he's a dick and doing something illegal unless he somehow set up part of their pay as a "bonus" which is contingent based on their upsells.

all humans NEED to eat food

food should be FREE!!!!!

commie nutjob i hope you fall into the middle of the earth when commiefornia gets the big one

and to be pertinent to the thread, SHENS you flame-baiting troll

I've always theorized that most Taco Bells pay their employees a bonus based on how few napkins and taco sauce packets they hand out at the drive-thru window. 🙂

Heh, the taco bell here, it seems that all the employees grab a giant handful of sauce.

I have a huge paper bag full of them.

They pay next to nothing for these things, so any bonus would completely negate the point.

Managers decide the pay and cost of food.

That would defeat the purpose of a chain.

It wouldn't make sense for them to sell stuff at the same price in the middle of nowhere, Indiana, and the middle of NYC or San Francisco. Much less overseas.

I mean, do you expect to pay the same price at every Shell station you visit, just because it's the same brand?

why would pay be deducted if someone says no tomatoes?

they are usually cut up in advance anyhow. a burrito or whatever items that has tomatoes isn't cheaper if you don't want them. The store loses nothing. Actually they might even save money as if enough people choose not to get tomatoes in a day, they could save on having to cutting up 2-3 tomatoes.

Sauce packets and napkins take a huge chunk out of a fast food joints profit margins.

You have to realize that on many menu items they're only making a few cents per item sold.

But what profits could they yield by giving bonuses on something like that? I mean, sure it adds up, but so does giving out bonuses.

BS about the prices, and BS about your friend getting pay docked. First, it's obvious that you have no friends, and second, just who there is keeping track of every person taking an order so they can get docked?

It is a real cost to the company if to many people ask to hold something. You don't understand how these companies opperate if you say it isn't.

I'm not defending this guy, but you guys need to pull your heads out of your asses. Almost all fast food restaurants are independantly owned, and the franchise owner can do whatever the fsck they want(within the limits of the franchise agreement).

Check out the prices at the fast food joints next time you're in a podunk town. You will be shocked.

I travel all over, and the prices are almost exactly the same from town to town, city to city, state to state. The only thing that varies much is the tax.
Edit: But this guy is saying the next Taco Bell down the street is quite a bit different...and I don't believe it.

I've beginning to wonder if you understand how the real world operates.

Seriously. He's trying to tell us that if I tell them to hold the tomatoes and sour cream, that costs Taco Bell money? Complete and utter B.S.
