They aren't the first to come up with that idea. The others have in the end been deemed illegal and eventually this will too. I'd save my cash.

The ATF has already approved it. The question of legality was brought up when we were using rubberbands on the trigger to do the same thing, the ATF ruled that because no mechanical device pulled the trigger, and only one shot was fired per trigger pull, it was legal.

Why are you sighting in at 25? I like a 50yard zero myself. It will be within a couple inches out to 220yards.

Standard AR-15 battle sighting. One click back on the rear sight, zero at 25 is also zero at 300 one click up. 25/300 zero and 50/225 zero are both pretty standard options, really depends how far out you are shooting. Given the range OP went to is limited, 50/225 would have been better.

When I first sighted my Bushmaster XM15E2S to 25/300, I put a full mag of 30 rds into a single hole on the paper the size of a quarter with stock open sights at 25. But that's a full length 20" barrel rifle not a carbine, and from a bench. The front sight distance and sight radius on the M4 style rifles is pretty bad compared to the full size rifle.

I'd ask how you knew, but the only other $85 guns are pellet guns. ;)

I got me one of the surplus Yugoslavian M48 Mausers for around that price. Good rifle. I like the shorter bolt compared to the K98k (I don't need to move my head out of position to work the bolt when in prone) and the barrel was pristine. Only problem was that one of the safety lugs broke while I was shooting the rifle and I had to replace the bolt. Brought the rifle and replacement bolt to a local gunshop to get the headspace checked. The bastard charged me something like $90 for a 10 second job. He said that he had to do a lead cast of the chamber to know what the calibre was! Christ, I wrote it down on the damn form, it's stamped on the fucking barrel and the son of a bitch even called me up on the phone to ask what the calibre was. Fucking pirates. Next time I'll just buy me the damn nogo gauge.
