Minolta's digital gear is all labelled "Dimage".

That's a great camera, kinda big to carry around, but excellent image quality.

Holy overpricing, Batman!

Check out newegg, and save $200. Better yet, get a Canon A80 or S400.

BTW- Its a Minolta Dimage

Remember, this is CDN $$$. Is the price still bad?

Sorry, didn't see that. Newegg has it for $349US, which comes out to ~$460CND. I would say that you could find a better price.

Opinions?

I got a dimage f100 (compact 4 mp camera) for $225 shipped - you can find the camera for MUCH cheaper elsewhere... groovy camera though I find that it just kills alkaline batteris.. I literally get 2 min out of a pair- you MUST buy some good NIMHs..

Yep, the differences you won't be able to notice. If anything, I'd get an F-100 though, it only uses 2 AA batteries instead of four, if anything, it's much slimmer. I bought enough NIMHs for it.

IMHO the S414 is worth it for the simple fact that it can shoot standard TIFF images rather than the proprietary uncompressed format that the S404 used.
