How is the sync software that comes with WD Passport external drives?

I bought a 500 gb passport and I am curious to hear your views on the software that come with these drives? Any good? Or should I just format it and use as a regular drive? Thanks.
 
I delete the partition and create a 4KB ALU NTFS partition. If you're running Win just use ntbackup.

Allocation unit or cluster. It's the default size. You can select 512byte to 64kilobyte when formatting.
