How is the reliability on Audi A4s?

I like the RX8. I really like how it has two full adult back seats too. My problem with it would be the questionable reliability of the rotary, but more important the fact that it gets smoked by the 350z in terms of horses. 50 less horses can really be noticed.

most Audi owners will admit to their cars having problems... but it's a shame, I really like the way the cars look inside and out.

if VW was as reliable as Toyota or Honda, I'd probably be driving a VR6 or something right now... (I hate the feel of their manual gearboxes too though)

Unless it's a truck, stay away from Ford. Your average Toyota is many times more reliable than any POS Ford. Screw Audi man, get an Acura.

Audis are fabulously designed cars, but anything made by VW hasnt been very reliable. From the Jettas to the A8.

BMWs arent too bad, especially the 3series, but beware of the specialty models.

And I think its pretty common knowledge that the Japanese cars run away with reliability. Though Nissan is the lesser of the big three. The G35s interior doesnt look that cheap, it does look incredibly tacky. The interior designer who decided that the vents whould swivel on a "dash bumper" should be shot.

Well $1200 is a R@p3 in my my book for parts that should only run around $200 plus amazing such a little thing trashed it. German engineering *pffft* I never bought into that load anyway though

As far as a good way to find out the reliability of a car, I go to the Forums of the type of vehicle I am looking at and just lurke around their repair threads, never ask them their opinion though or they will say it's gods gift to automobiles I like it when you see threads like "well I got hit with the old XXXXX problem we are known for" then you find out the real scoop

Japanese (and some domestic) are they way to go.
some domestic are capable of very low maintenance as well...

the thing is that all makes have that one thing that is a problem for them.

Could be anything as minor as a certain rattle or squak to malfunctioning power windows and ignition coils.

Audi just gives you a loaner so you don't have to piddle around the dealership. I've never had them take more then a little while anyway.

Audi's are overpriced too. For the amount of maintenance the car needs, I would buy a Lexus or a BMW anyday.

Audi's are overpriced too. For the amount of maintenance the car needs, I would buy a Lexus or a BMW anyday.

There is no doubt that Audi has some QC issues, but every manufacturer does. I think Audi's is highlighted because it is an expensive car and people EXPECT it to be problem free. BMW has had a much higher incident rate lately as well, so I think that has some to do with it. You're comparing a FWD Acura to an AWD car, and it just isn't the same. Plus, some of it is the exclusiveness of Audi. I see 100's of BMWs, Acuras, and Infinitis a day, but don't see near as many Audis. I've yet to have the problems that most people have. Time will tell.
