My Platinum 5.1 rules for gaming, but I've never heard a Santa Cruz or Acoustic Edge. I do have a Vortex 2, which IMHO sucks at gaming..

I used an aureal chip set based card(TB Montego) and when I got my Asus A7V I had to get an SBLive card because even aureal admits that their chipset wont work with the via mobo chip set. Maybe the newer chip sets will, but careful.

Can more people post their impressions with Windows 2000 support? I have Windows 2000 Pro on a Thunderbird Athlon and I *really* don't want to rock the boat with my stability (3 months now without reboot). Win2k drivers are important for everything, so EAX and A3D are important features for me under Win2k.

yata, I bought my SC from the local Electronics Boutique. And I've seen them at Fry's too.

I have yet to hear of the AE being available in the stores. Why they aren't, is beyond me.
