I guess it's not so bad only doing it once a year, but a big issue for me would just be finding where to put them IN my dorm. Very small rooms at GCC. So I'm hoping headphones will suit me well enough. Sure do love my Klipsch, though.

Anyway, perhaps I'll just get the card that DAjello mentioned.

Even though the dayton is cheaper, lighter, and smaller.

Anyways...

Uhhh... I meant without the cardboard box.... It's an SVS PB-10 ISD.

I meant the big cardboard box (double boxed + speakers + some foam packaging) was over 75 pounds packaged (had a yellow and black striped warning label on it for the handlers). Without the cardboard packaging, they're 67 pounds for the pair. (I didn't know the weight of the speakers alone offhand so that's why I listed packaged weight).

So for my sub, I didn't know packaged weight so I meant 60 pounds without the box with box meaning cardboard, not the sub cabinet.

The driver is made by TC Sounds Inc.,but I'm not sure on actual specs of it.

Yeah, I pm-ed back... maybe it didn't get through

here's what I said
"I wasn't sure if I would like the effect so I wanted to keep costs down. I got a used receiver off ebay for less thatn $40 shipped and got 2 pairs of bass shakers for $60. I mainly wanted to add something for as little as possible to add some more rumble when I wanted it so I could turn down my sub (since I'm next to the "study den"). I read on hometheaterforum and AVSforum on how these were a good budget option for what I wanted to do.

How much does a Clark Synthesis system cost?"

These bass shakers are enough to make my futon's metal frame vibrate enough that it resonates quite loudly at certain frequencies (something that I dont' want). I keep them at about 15% of max level usually and I get a nice rumble. I'm not even getting close to maxing these out yet, so I think going the really cheap route was the best option for me.

Maybe I'll check transducers out when I get some real furnature, thanks :)
