I was at best buy and looking at a m100 palm and I noticed a row of dead pixels, which of course raised the question in my mind, just exactly how durable are these things? Can they take a beating or are they really fragile? Or something inbetween?

Well I have a Compaq Aero 2110 PocketPC device and it's rather rugged. I've never dropped on the floor or anything, but it can take some abuse.

I have a palm Vx and I must have dropped it quite a few times. Nothing seems to be broken, but I do have to say that I bought a case with it and I think that saved it quite a few times.

i threw my palm3e on the floor once to show my friend it kicked ass in durability, and well the cover came off, but it was fine.

I have a Handspring Visor Deluxe, and it is quite durable. I'm in the Army National Guard, and took it with me for 2 weeks in the field. It came out unscathed. I've also dropped it a few times, no problems. A good case always helps tho.
