How is the city Torrance or Fullerton?

Looking to move. How is Torrance and Fullerton? Safety? Weather? Schools?
Any info. and suggestions would be appreciated.
 
Which part of Torrance? It's a big city. Cross streets help.

Fullerton is in a completely different area. It's about the same as Torrance, I guess. Never go over there much.
 
Torrance is south of LA between Redondo Beach and Long Beach.

Fullerton is in Orange county just north of Anaheim.

Irvine's nice. Why move from a nicer area to a less nice area? But I would pick Torrance between the two choices.

planning to purchase a house....Irvine is way too expensive....

Yea, I heard Torrance and Fullerton is pretty much same...i just can't decide..
 
both are fine, my thought is fullerton is a nicer town but i couldn't tell you why, probably cause both are very similar
 
I'm partial to Torrance just because I've lived nearby for my entire life. Plus, it's pretty central to everything.

Fullerton is closer to OC/Disneyland/Knott's/Irvine/etc. but if you want to go somewhere like West LA, Pasadena, or God forbid, the Valley, you have a much longer drive ahead of you.

What kind of place are you looking for, and what's your budget?
 
Torrance is a good city. Just don't drive a riced out car here because the cops can be pretty strict.
 
I find it hard to beleive that houses in Torrance are that much cheaper then Irvine. My friend owns a 3 bed 2bath house in the vicinity of Torrance Blvd and Anza (not the most expensive part of Torrance, but not the cheapest either) and the house was appraised 6 months ago at 500K

Basically, Torrance gets worse (or cheaper, depending on your perspective) the farther north you get.
 
Torrance is really starting to get expensive, with some areas catching up to Palos Verdes. It's a great area though, with lots of reasonably good schools.
 
Hmm .. I was born in Torrance and lived the first 18 years of my life in Fulleton. I personally think it was a great place to grow up. If I was a 23 year old male living there, I might be a bit stifled (live in SF right now) but it all depends on what you're looking for. Since you're looking to buy a house your biggest concern is the school district. Fullerton has some of the absolute best schools around (Sunny Hills and Troy). I went to troy and kids were shipped from San Diego to that school. Whats your price range like? How old are you?
 
As long as you're in Orange County, you're ok and you're in a nice place. I noticed going on the 5 that as soon as I left Orange County and got to the 6 lane part of the fwy, it got really really nasty and stuff.

but why from irvine?...irvine is nicer than torrance and fullerton combined.

i say choose fullerton though..
it's more in the middle of things than torrance.

Um, I highly doubt they're catching up to Palos Verdes. Torrance is on a flat land while Palos Verdes is closer to the coast and more on a hill.

Oh, I looked at the map, and that really narrow part of I-5 along ghetto looking stuff looks like it's Buena Park and Norwalk.

BTW, Fullerton has that insanely good high school called Troy HS (IIRC). If you have a high school kid, then Fullerton's in your favor 🙂
 
There are bad parts of torrance though, like near those giant oil refineries and it is next door to compton.

ummm, probably at least a 3 bed,2 bath house.....budget would prefer to be below 525K

price range would like to be between 400K-525K...well, i'm going to be 24 soon...
