Just imagine the performance gain I will experience when I decide to upgrade sometime in July. I am still on an FX-8120 / GTX 760. Cpu has never failed me, and it has always been enough for my needs. Ill be waiting on Vega to upgrade. Although the CPU will likely be a 1600X....or maybe a even a 1700.

Hell, I still got a Core 2 Duo E7200 machine with a EVGA 9800GTX for basic use. 🙂

Also Ryzen can be used OUTSIDE the gaming like Virtual Machines.

Despite Ryzen couldn't beat Intel, they did caught up and that is important... The competition is still alive.

When it comes to virtual machines and running older operating systems like windows xp, that nasty vme bug is still here. But according to people on the RWT forum, a patch in microcode is coming.

I'm not sure what you're referencing except those people running old games. I've been in the major enterprise space for over 12 years and not a single one is still on XP.

Well, some people run old os in a virtual machine. For safety and other purposes. It seems that windows xp cannot be run inside a virtual machine at the moment if the vme is used.

The 1600x seems like a very good chip to buy. I am also following every news item about ryzen. My next purchase is very likely also going to be a 1600x with motherboard and memory.
